Tevez makes Boca exit with nothing more to give

Carlos Tevez says he has played his last game for Boca Juniors as the striker has nothing more to give his boyhood club.

Tevez returned for a third spell with Boca in 2018 and helped the famous club win the Argentinian Primera Division title last year.

There were reports that Tevez, who was rocked by the death of his father in February, would retire on Friday but the 37-year-old revealed he was leaving Boca rather than calling time on his career.

The former Argentina international, who made his Boca debut aged 16, said: I thought this moment would never come, but here I am. It will be very difficult to speak to them [Boca fans], but here I am to tell them that I will not continue at the club.

It is not a farewell, but a see you soon, because I will al…

Milan interested in Rashford

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, AC Milan are interested in signing Manchester United s Marcus Rashford.

This is Rashford s fourth professional season, and he has so far played only for United. It was Louis van Gaal who gave him his debut in 2015/16, playing as a centre-forward. The youngster fully repaid the Dutchman s trust and scored eight goals in 18 appearances that season, his best goal-per-game ratio to date. In 2016, Jose Mourinho replaced Van Gaal and signed Zlatan Ibrahimović, and a year later he also brought in Romelu Lukaku. Rashford was turned into a winger, only occasionally appearing as the furthest man upfront.

Lately, there have been reports of his apparent dissatisfaction with his situation and links with a move away have appeared.

I wouldn´t sell him – Arbeloa wants Bale to remain at Real Madrid

Gareth Bale has not run out of credit at Real Madrid and just needs to be looked after by the club following his injury issues, according to Alvaro Arbeloa.

The Welshman s future at the Santiago Bernabeu appears uncertain after enduring another stop-start season, with reports in the Spanish media suggesting the club could be ready to sell the player in the next transfer window.

Bale, who has twice suffered calf problems this season, has found first-team opportunities hard to come by under head coach Zinedine Zidane since his return to action last month.

Isco was preferred for the first leg of Madrid s crucial Champions League last-16 tie against Paris Saint-Germain, and while Bale did start the 5-3 win over Real Betis last weekend, he was back on the bench for We…

Prediction: Barcelona vs Celta Vigo

Best Odds: 8/11

Bookmaker:

Looking to make it three La Liga wins on the spin, Barcelona will welcome Celta Vigo to the Nou Camp on Tuesday night.

Barcelona

Starting with the hosts, while Barcelona might not have been at their best over the past month, the former Spanish champions have managed to wrap up a Champions League spot with time to spare. Eventually watching left-back Jordi Alba grab a last-gasp winner as they snatched a 2-1 victory away at Real Betis a few days ago, Head Coach Xavi is desperate for his side to end the 2021/22 campaign with a flurry. While the European heavyweights might not have been able to mount any kind of La Liga title charge this season, the midweek hosts have secured back-to-back domestic wins since opening May. However, shocking…

Chelsea running out of time over Ake

Chelsea have inserted a buy-back clause in to the deal which saw Nathan Ake move to Bournemouth in 2017 which reportedly stands at £40 million. It was an important aspect of the deal with the defender currently attracting interest from several top clubs, both in the Premier League and on the continent. It allows Chelsea to re-sign the player for that amount, as well as to match any bid from any other suitor that Bournemouth eventually accept unless the player himself refuses to return to Stamford Bridge.

However, as revealed by David Ornstein in his weekly column for , the buy-back clause expires before the start of the 2020 summer transfer window. The Cherries would have been very happy when Chelsea were clamped down with a two-window transfer ban in the spring, which initial…

Qatar can win Asian Cup, says Sanchez

Qatar can win the Asian Cup for the first time, according to coach Felix Sanchez.

The 2022 World Cup hosts booked their place in the quarter-finals with a 1-0 defeat of Iraq on Tuesday.

Bassam Al Rawi s free-kick midway through the second half was enough to give Qatar a tight win at Al Nahyan Stadium.

Qatar will now go on to meet South Korea in the last eight after winning their first Asian Cup knockout match, with that game set to be played on Friday.

And although Sanchez s side will be the underdogs, he has full faith in his side s chances of making more Asian Cup history.

We were patient, we had to adapt, Sanchez said after Al Rawi s second free-kick goal of the tournament downed Iraq.

Once you reach this stage you want to win the t…

Mainoo pleased to have ´peace of mind´ over Ten Hag decision

Kobbie Mainoo is pleased to have “peace of mind” over the future of Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag.

The Dutchman looked set to be sacked following a disappointing season, only to lead United to FA Cup success against Manchester City last month.

Mainoo, who is away with England at Euro 2024, scored the decisive goal in the 2-1 win at Wembley to cap off an impressive debut year for the 19-year-old.

Following United s 13th FA Cup success, a post-season review ultimately led to Ten Hag being told he would remain in charge at Old Trafford under the new ownership.

Mainoo is preparing for the Three Lions second group game against Denmark on Thursday, having made his international tournament debut against Serbia as a late substitute.

Bitesize Prediction: Goa vs Hyderabad – 05/01/23

Market: Both teams to score

Odds: 4/6 @

Hoping to find a route to the top of the ISL table on Thursday afternoon, Hyderabad will make the trip to Goa for what could be a lively affair.

Starting with the hosts, watching their three-match unbeaten run come to an abrupt end last time out, Goa will be hoping to find some stability in 2023. Eventually getting hit with a 2-1 loss away at ATK Mohun Began, Carlos Pena s side have claimed just a pair of their previous six ISL showdowns a run that stems back to November 20th. Although the Oranges might know that they face a tough test on Thursday afternoon, fans around the Fatorda Stadium should be boosted by an eye-catching run of form on home soil. Last seen in front of their own supporters claiming a 2-1 win against No…

´Zero problems´ between Tuchel and Pulisic despite US star´s lack of playing time

Thomas Tuchel insists there are zero problems between himself and Christian Pulisic after the player s father tweeted about his recent lack of playing time.

United States star Pulisic featured as a substitute in the Blues frustrating 1-0 Premier League defeat to Everton last Sunday, and though the former Borussia Dortmund man has made 34 appearances for Chelsea this season, only half have been starts.

In a since-deleted tweet, Pulisic s father Mark lamented the sad situation the 23-year-old found himself in, sparking rumours of an exit for the attacker by saying there was a big six months ahead .

Speaking ahead of Chelsea s home encounter with Wolves on Saturday, Tuchel brushed off suggestions that Pulisic was unhappy in west London.

I m not concerned…

Hecking furious after heavy loss

Wolfsburg coach Dieter Hecking questioned whether his side even listened to him before their 4-1 UEFA Europa League loss at Everton.

The Bundesliga club finished fifth last term their best performance since winning the league in 2009 to secure a return to European football.

But Wolfsburg, Europa League quarter-finalists in 2010, made a poor start to this year s competition as Seamus Coleman, Leighton Baines and Kevin Mirallas all scored for Everton at Goodison Park on Thursday.

Ricardo Rodriguez who netted a 15th-minute own goal netted a late consolation for Wolfsburg but it did little to calm Hecking, who bemoaned his side s terrible errors.

I feel very disappointed by the performance, Hecking said.

Actually I feel more annoyed than disappointe…
